N°1 Saint-Cernin vintage 2017 is an extremely rare white wine produced from a few unique barrels of Chardonnay (1,200 bottles). The wine is grown and vinified in Limoux at the foothills of the Pyrenean mountains in south-west France, on a terroir recognised by wine lovers around the world. Château de Saint-Cernin owns 3 hectares of vines located in the La Serpent village.
The wine has a pale yellow and brilliant robe with golden highlights. Matured in oak barrels, this wine offers a very fine, slightly baked nose with aromas of brioche and frangipane complemented by buttery notes. The expression of whiteskinned fruit, peach or apricot, and a hint of wood, complete this rich palette.
The mouth, round and generous, opens with aromas of fresh or even grilled hazelnut, giving way to minty notes, leading through to a finish with nice tension and a pleasant and surprising salinity.
Gourmet and fat, N°1 Saint-Cernin AOP Limoux White offers a perfect balance and a good length in the mouth that can be enjoyed today or even better, after leaving it to age quietly for 3 to 4 years.
