The Property

Château de Saint-Cernin is in the village of Saint-Cernin-de-Labarde in the Périgord Pourpre (purple) area whose name refers to the color of the red wines of Bergerac.
This little village of 200 people was originally part of an old medieval city which overlooks the River Conne Valley.

True passionate of wines, Robert Wessman bought Château de Saint-Cernin in the early 2000 with the aim of producing in very small quantities one of the best possible wine in the world.
He has decided to produce a red wine of the highest quality in his property (which has the right soils) and match it with a dry white wine produced in a similar off-track place with top adapted soils (Limoux) and a rare rosé champagne matching Grandes Marques standards to constitute a range of three top wines to offer to enlightened and demanding amateurs. In March 2017, his first cuvee, called “N°1 Saint-Cernin”, has been awarded with a gold medal at the “Concours Général Agricole de Paris”.
